I went to the doctor because I have this bad fungus on my toe nail, I expected to get pills for this like lamisil or diflucan I have known people to use these pills but my doctor prescribed me something called Penlac it"s like a nail polish that I brush on every day. Does anyone know how long this will take to take effect? And or does anyone know any home remedies for this

Penlac is approximately 89% effective, if used properly. It is safe, with very little chance for adverse effects. You should expect to have to use it for at least 4 months, depending upon the severity. The medication keeps acting on the site for almost up to a year, after you stop applying.
Ask your doctor if you have any questions – that is why you go to them.

Hope this helps.

The most famous home-remedy for toenail fungus is Vicks Vapo-Rub. Wah & dry feet well, smear rub on & under nails (which should be trimmed as short as possible). Do this at least twice a day. While it is not effective for everyone who tries it, it has a preety good record, it is cheap & it is safe.. It may take up to a year to totally grow out a healthy nail, & at that time, it is suggested that you treat the nails a couple times a week as a preventive..
